OF THE MONTH

March 2020 Book Pick of the Month

My pick of the month is "Caligula: A Biography" by Aloys Winterling.

I'd recommend it to those interested in Roman history for its fascinating and nuanced approach to one of Rome's most infamous emperors. It gives an alternate approach to the supposed mad tyrant, looking at the politics and culture around his rule. Whilst I may not agree with all the ideas, it will certainly get you thinking about our preconceived notions about the man and the sources that give us this perspective.
